Fujifilm X-Treme Heads to Greenock for P1 SuperStock Event This Weekend

After working for 10 days at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, John Rourke and Jeff Carter will be heading to Greenock for the first part of the Fujifilm X-Treme project, the P1 Scottish Grand Prix of the Sea this weekend. This weekend the P1 SuperStock Championship begins the four round European series in Aalborg, Denmark before for the first of three races in the UK, the P1 Scottish Grand Prix of the Seas in Greenock on the 24/25 June. We'd like to wish everyone the best of luck, especially the 'Spirit of Inverclyde' crew of Davie and Ashleigh Finlayson who we have been following over the past few weeks.  The Scottish Father nd Daughter crew will be making their P1 debut in Denmark and we look forward to them flying the flag for Scotland in Denmark and in two weeks time in Greenock. Fujifilm X-Treme will be in Greenock for the weekend to cover the Scottish round of the series but before then John Rourke and Jeff Carter will be in France for the 85th edition of the world famous 24 Hours of Le Mans. X-Treme Test for Fujifilm X-T2 and John Rourke

When Fujifilm X-Photographers John Rourke and Jeff Carter embarked on this project they wanted to take the Fujifilm camera system into different locations to prove they could work in the most difficult conditions.   During the 'Spirit of Inverclyde' P1 Panther test runs on Sunday 28 May John Rourke clambered into a dry suit, fitted a buoyancy ring, and went for a swim in the sea off the Scottish coast near Musselburgh. The plan was discussed with the driver of the 'Spirit of Inverclyde' Davie Finlayson who would run parallel 20 feet out of John's position behind the yacht he was attached to.  Davie did three passes and the resulting shots are really amazing and very different from the ones you see taken from the shore or the back of a boat. Introducing the crew of the 'Spirit of Inverclyde'

Fujifilm GFX50S + GF32-64mm f4 - ( John Rourke) On Sunday 28 May John Rourke and Jeff Carter joined the crew of the 'Spirit of Inverclyde' P1 Panther at Musselburgh on the Firth of Forth for the team's initial shake down test ahead of the 2017 P1 SuperStock Series. Father and daughter team Davie and Ashleigh Finlayson will be flying the Scottish Saltire this year during all four of the P1 SuperStock events and their main focus is the P1 Scottish Grand Prix of the Sea on June 24/25 in Greenock. As well as shooting a number of still images during the test with John Rourke using the Fujifilm X-T2 and GFX50S and Jeff Carter the X-T2, Jeff also shot a video interview on the Fujifilm X-T2 to introduce the newest members of the P1 family.
